Professional Journey and Focus
My career has spanned more than 25 years across corporate, agency, and advisory environments, helping organisations navigate growth, transformation, and evolving market conditions. Prior to cofounding Growthential, I held leadership roles including Head of North America Marketing Operations & Technology at PayPal, where I partnered across global teams to lead large-scale transformation initiatives, scale enterprise capabilities, and establish a Centre of Excellence. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with B2B and B2C organisations across financial services, healthcare, technology, and telecommunications.
Today, as Cofounder and Managing Partner at Growthential, I work with executive and senior leaders on strategy, growth, transformation, organisational readiness, governance, and the responsible application of emerging technologies. Much of my work focuses on helping organisations align strategy, innovation, leadership, and execution while building the capabilities needed to adapt and thrive in rapidly changing environments.
In your experience, how does active community engagement accelerate professional growth and skill acquisition?
I have always found that some of the most valuable learning happens through conversations with people who bring different experiences, perspectives, and challenges to the table. Communities create opportunities to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends, and learn from both successes and failures in ways that are difficult to replicate in isolation. They expose us to new approaches, strategies, and applications that we may not have otherwise considered.
We’re operating in a period of significant change, where many organisations are building while still learning, testing while still aligning, and adapting as conditions continue to evolve. In that environment, communities play an important role. They provide space for honest dialogue, shared learning, and practical insight. For me, they are a source of inspiration that brings additional depth, energy, and perspective to my work while helping bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application.
What originally motivated you to become a member of this community?
I first experienced the Fintech Marketing Community through one of its events, which I attended with my business partner. What immediately stood out was how welcoming, engaging, and authentic the community felt. The speakers and panel discussions offered rich insights, thoughtful perspectives, and meaningful conversations about the opportunities and challenges shaping the industry.
We were also incredibly impressed by Payal’s vision and leadership. Her passion for the fintech industry is evident in everything she does, and her ability to bring people together is remarkable. Her energy is contagious, and, in many ways, reflects the spirit of the community itself: curious, collaborative, supportive, and committed to helping members learn and grow together.
What are your top strategic recommendations for marketing and business leaders navigating today's landscape?
We are living through one of the most significant periods of change many organisations have experienced. While AI is often the most visible catalyst, it is only part of a much larger shift involving technology, customer expectations, operating models, workforce dynamics, regulation, and evolving market conditions. Leaders today must operate with less certainty, greater interdependence, and a deeper understanding of the systems influencing outcomes.
At the same time, leadership responsibilities continue to expand. Marketing and business leaders are increasingly expected to balance the needs of customers, employees, boards, investors, regulators, and partners, often without a clear playbook. Success is unlikely to come from predicting every outcome correctly. It comes from maintaining clarity, making thoughtful decisions and building organisations capable of adapting as circumstances continue to evolve.
